Derived from Indian Almond Trees, these Catappa Tea Bags create the ideal aquatic habitat for Bettas, shrimp, and sensitive fish species. Each bag releases beneficial tannins and natural compounds that gently lower pH levels and add a subtle amber tint to your water, recreating the soft, acidic conditions found in tropical leaf-litter environments. Perfect for establishing the natural settings these creatures thrive in.
Directions
Boil one bag in 1 liter of water for 10 minutes or until desired extract color is attained. Let extract cool to aquarium temperature and pour the amount needed directly into the tank or mix with prepared water for water changes.
When first using extract, add gradually over a 2 to 3 days and monitor to ensure pH stays within suitable range for tank inhabitants. Alternatively, add 1 bag per 40L to an external filter for a time-release effect.
Remove activated carbon before use, then monitor pH and remove bags once your desired water colour and acidity are reached.
